Redux: Should Small Craft Sales List Outboard Motors?
The other day, we received an Instagram message from Scott C., who is desperately searching for a 90- to 115-horsepower short-shaft Mercury “Tower of Power” for a low-profile classic ski boat built in Santa Monica, California, in the mid-1960s.
“Looking for any Tower of Power that might come along. I’d appreciate a heads-up. My name is Scott, and my number is 253-970-4144. Thank you so much.”
If anyone has a lead, give Scott a shout at the number above.
Which once again brings us to the outboard-motor question.
We’ve received a steady trickle of calls and messages asking the same thing: “Can I list an outboard motor here?” Enough, in fact, that we’re seriously considering giving motors their own dedicated category.
It makes sense. Outboards are central to a lot of small boats, yet they often wind up buried in generic marketplaces where good motors get lost in the noise. Small Craft Sales was built to serve small-boat people properly, and outboards feel like a logical next step.
So, you tell us: Should we add them? Would a dedicated outboard category be useful to you?
