Which is why this massive online auction from Mecum Auctions caught our attention.
Dubbed The American Wooden Boat Restoration Collection, the sale is basically a floating museum of forgotten mahogany, vintage hardware and classic hulls waiting for someone brave enough to bring them back to life. Pre-war Chris-Crafts, oddball race boats, dusty projects and piles of rare parts, the whole thing feels less like an auction and more like a rescue mission for American boatbuilding history.
